I obsessed over Penny skateboards for a about four months before I was finally able to buy one from the Penny board website. I first saw the beautiful plastic skateboard while I was at my grandmother’s house for Christmas on one of my favorite Youtube stars, Jenn McCallister’s, Instagram. Unfortunately, for me it was already Christmas so there was no way that someone could buy this board for me. The entire time I was at my grandmother’s house I was on my laptop looking at pictures and videos of people using these skateboards and I was completely in love. After four months of this I finally started saving up my money from my job at the snow cone stand so that I could buy my own Penny skateboard. After a few weeks of working I ordered my first customized Penny “Nickel” skateboard for one hundred and forty dollars. It was perfect, I was twenty-seven inches long, seven inches wide, it had a blue deck with a waffle pattern, purple wheels, blue and green trucks, white bolts, and Abec 7 bearings, and the bottom of the board was marked with Penny’s original motto, “Since Forever.” When my customized nickel board arrived I could not wait to try it out, and when I finally did the experience was almost magical. The board was so smooth and responsive that I could just think about turning and the board would turn to wherever I wanted it to go. This skateboard’s ride is so smooth that it ruins every other skateboards for whoever rides it, and I truly believe it’s the best skateboard on the market. This board hardly ever leaves my sight and my four month obsession and the hard work I had to do to achieve it definitely makes my Penny skateboard my most prized possession.
