Having Fun And Breaking Bones
One thing you should never do in life is ride Heeleys in Wal-Mart. Last time I did that I ended up breaking my ankle. For seven months I was on crutches and had a big black boot on up to my knee. It was like that through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, Valentines Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter, and then the rest of May.
I was in 4thgrade and it was the weekend before Thanksgiving. I was ready to finally get a pair of Heeleys. My mom and I went to the mall and I found a pair that I liked, we bought them and I was soon riding around the store. After that we went to Wal-Mart, my mom went off to get the things we needed while I rode up and down the aisles. On my way to find her and go home my attention went on something else and little did I see the big box of Christmas decorations in the middle of the aisle. I tried to avoid it, but it was too late I slipped and rolled my ankle on the box. The pain in my left ankle was soaring up through out my leg. My mom took me home and we iced my ankle.
The next day my parents took me to the Emergency Room. After a long wait the nurse took me in to get a few X-rays, and then after another long wait we got the news. I had broken my ankle. It probably wouldn’t have been that bad if I hadn’t broken it near my growth plate. It ended up that my growth plate had moved a millimeter out of place and it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it was. I ended up missing most of the basketball season and many fun activities, but it taught me to be more careful and think about what I’m about to do
That’s why you should never ride Heeleys in Wal-Mart. I had to learn the hard way.
The Wonderful Sense
It would be terrible to lose your sense of sight. You couldn’t play on your iPod or watch T.V. You couldn’t be involved in almost any activities. While your friends are out playing a game of softball or basketball, you would have to stay at home, or just sit and wait until their finished.
What if you just woke up one day and you’re blind. You would have to walk with a cane or a Seeing Eye dog. It would be so easy to walk into the streets or fall down and hurt yourself. It would be hard to not being able to see your friends or even your own family members. You would not be able to see all the wonders of the world. You would have to rely on people to do daily things, like getting dressed, doing homework, and even getting around your own house. That’s why I would never want to lose my sense of sight.
Basketball
The smell of sweat,
The feel of the rubber,
The sound of your shoes
squeaking on the court.
The taste of the stuffy
air in the gym.
The intensity of the game
makes your mind focus
on what you will do next.
Will you make the winning shot?
Will you lose your teams lead?
When your team is ahead
the clock is a friend.
When your team is behind
the clock is a fiend
The intensity,
The sweat,
The focus,
The game,
BASKETBALL!

The Sweden Times – Bravery in Denmark
German soldiers have now invaded Denmark and have begun taking and relocating Jewish people. I am a writer from Sweden and we have had about 7,000 Jewish people enter our country in just a few weeks. We have many men and women helping these people and making sure that they are safe and have food and shelter. Swedish people are aware of the cause and are doing everything they can do to help, by taking these people in in and caring for them. Danish people have made secret entrances inside their boats so they can safely transport the Jews over the Sweden border. Fisherman put dead fish on the bottom of their boats, and have drugged hanker chiefs to keep soldiers and their dogs from finding the Jews. Their hanker chiefs would make the dogs lose their sent and the fish would discust the soldiers. The hanker chiefs work by using a blend a rabbits blood and cocaine. The rabbits blood would lure the dogs to the boat and the cocaine would make them lose their scent and they would find nothing in the boats. The Resistance is a group of young men and women across Europe who are rescuing, sheltering, and hiding the Jews. This group has saved thousands of Jews by protecting them and transporting them them to a free country. Most of the Danish people have helped a Jew, by doing that they are risking their own lives to save others. Without the helped many, many more Jews would have been killed or tortured in a concentration camp.
Spending Time with the Family
The best part about my Christmas was spending time with my family. On Christmas day we opened presents at 7:00. My puppy Murphy went first. He got a snuggie for dogs and two chew toys. After we put his snuggie on him we all opened our presents. I got a new Wii game, a video camera, two shirts, a jacket, and some little things. My mom got an iPhone and my dad got a pair of crocs. That day my family and I played Wii games, watched movies and had a good time with each other.
